'Content Cookery' - 26th June 2008
Small business owners and marketing, design and web management staff, from large corporations were entertained and educated at the second EBF Network and Learn event, held in London 26th June. They were fed a recipe of internet psychology, content cookery workshops, guest speakers, comedy and prizes. There was a fair bit of chocolate eating too!

EBF Founder Deborah Collier kicked off the evening with some thought provoking statistics and concepts relating to web use and perceptions. Graham Jones then used his psychological skills to explain an important concept about presenting information on the web.

Our first guest speaker Mark Lee, proudly presented his journey in creating his Tax Advice Network, which was a great case study for the delegates to relate to.

The group were then greeted by spoof success guru 'John Popolini', who cleverly presented the concept of irritating and excessive content in a humorous and entertaining way.

After a relaxing networking break, e-business trainer Deborah Collier called the group together to discuss web site case studies, such BBC.co.uk, past and current, as well as the national newspaper web sites. They were also tasked with structuring and planning the layout for a web site.

"If you are you are hungry for knowledge, then I will feed you. If you are hungry for food, then I will feed you chocolate, but you have to earn it", said Deborah to her delegates.

Two start-ups were able to start structuring their own business web sites, and attendees from larger organisations considered how they would implement their learning into their web and intranet sites.

"Your content cookery seminar was very insightful. We are now implementing some of those ideas into our web site " - Femi Ojemuyiwa, IT Web Manager Maidstone Borough Council

"I really liked your content cookery seminar. It was very informative. I loved the case studies and could really relate to the examples you used" - Carolina Chin, Wealth Management, Royal Bank of Canada
